Why we’re doing it

As part of the Queensboro Plaza  accessibility project and our ongoing work to improve the 7 line, we’re installing new elevators, ADA boarding areas with new platform edges, a new ADA ramp on an enlarged mezzanine, modified pedestrian bridges, and ADA upgrades for existing street and station stairs. Work began in September 2022 and is scheduled to continue through September 2024. The current phase of the work requires suspending  and  service between Queens and Manhattan for several weekends in early 2024.
