Monica Murray is the Auditor General for the MTA, leading the Audit team responsible for internal operations and capital audits. Monica also leads the Office of Construction Oversight, which provides capital project monitoring and reporting to the MTA Board.
Prior to her current role, Monica served as the Chief Administrative Officer for three New York City Transit Presidents and was the executive leader for agency policy, human resources, special projects, audits, and investigations. In this role, she worked to eliminate bureaucratic barriers for departments to drive effective performance. She is most proud of the work she and her team did supporting colleagues and their families during the pandemic.
Monica also practiced law at the MTA and in other highly regulated industries before joining the MTA.
Monica has degrees from Providence College and Quinnipiac University, and lives in Manhattan.
