About the route

The proposed QM4 Express runs inbound (westbound) to Midtown Manhattan via Sixth Avenue, and outbound (eastbound) to Electchester.

The proposed length of the QM4 Express route is 12.7 miles.

In the existing route, the average stop spacing is 1,128 feet. Under the proposed route, that would increase to 1,342 feet.

The proposed QM4 would maintain its existing routing along the local portion of the route. Along the non-stop portion, buses would utilize the Long Island Expressway in both directions.

As an Express route, stops on local streets would be spaced slightly further apart than existing to speed up travel time and improve reliability. Along the highway, Express routes travel non-stop to and from Manhattan.

Weekday peak frequencies would be slightly decreased due to low ridership on some trips. Weekday midday and weekend service would be discontinued due to low ridership. Service would operate during weekday peak hours only.
