About the route

The proposed Q40 Rush runs northbound to Jamaica and southbound to South Ozone Park. 

The proposed length of the Q40 Rush route is 3 miles. 

In the existing route, the average stop spacing is 728 feet. Under the proposed route, that would increase to 1,079 feet. 

The route would include connections to the Q1, Q6, Q7, Q8, Q9, Q112, Q20, Q24, Q30, Q31, Q40, Q41, Q43, Q44, Q51, Q54, Q56, and Q60. It would also connect to the  trains and the Long Island Rail Road.

Review the Q40 route summary

The proposed Q40 would maintain its existing routing. Only stop changes are proposed. 

To match stop spacing on other local and limited-stop portions of Rush routes, Q40 stops along 142 St/143 St would be spaced slightly further apart than existing, while stops along Lakewood Av and Sutphin Blvd would be located at key destinations and major transfer points. Several proposed route alternatives would provide local service stopping more frequently along Sutphin Blvd. 

Service would continue to operate during the same hours. Weekday frequencies would be slightly adjusted in select time periods.
