Metro-North Pascack Valley Line and Port Jervis Line services will be fare-free from Monday, August 26 to Monday, September 2, 2024. Monthly passes on these lines in September 2024 will also be discounted by 25%.
This is part of a fare holiday announced by NJ TRANSIT, which operates Metro-North service on these lines. The fare holiday and monthly pass discount also apply to all NJ TRANSIT services, including trains between New York Penn Station and Secaucus Junction. They do not apply to East of Hudson Metro-North services and Metro-North connecting services, including ferries.
During the fare holiday from August 26 to September 2, just board any train on the Pascack Valley or Port Jervis lines. You will not need to display or scan a ticket. Tickets will be required again starting September 3.
The 25% discount will automatically be applied to September monthly passes in the NJ TRANSIT app, at ticket machines, and at ticket windows.
