July 12: Westbury Station Platform Changes in Effect

Updated July 9, 2021 9:55 a.m.

Station Reconstruction Update

The renovation of Westbury Station, part of the LIRR Expansion Project, continues to advance. As of Monday, July 12, the following changes will be in effect:

  • The station platforms will close for reconstruction, and temporary platforms will open east of the current platforms.
  • All customers (westbound and eastbound) must enter or exit their train from the first six cars.
  • Ticket machines will be located at the western end of the temporary platforms.
  • Tracks will be re-numbered to accommodate the future third track. The north side track (currently Track 1) will now be referred to as Track 3, and the south side track (Track 2) will now be referred to as Track 1. This change will only affect the way in which tracks are numbered. Trains will adhere to current general operating patterns, with westbound trains arriving on the north side platform, and eastbound trains on the south side platform.

Please review the map below for further details.

The LIRR Expansion Project will add a third track along nearly 10 miles of right-of-way between Floral Park and Hicksville, increasing capacity, improving reliability and creating new service opportunities. Visit amodernli.com to learn more.
