The Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) today announced commemorative MetroCards featuring rock band Vampire Weekend, in support of the band's new album, Only God Was Above Us, will be available at certain subway stations in Manhattan.

As part of a collaboration with Columbia Records, the MetroCards will be available at two MTA stations beginning at midnight on Monday, May 20.

Two of the cards feature photographs by Steven Siegel, whose 1980s photographs inspired the album.

Cards will be available only at select MetroCard vending machines — which accept credit and debit cards as well as cash — at the following stations:

  • 14 St-Union Square
  • Grand Central-42 St

Since the inception of MetroCard in 1994, 400 different limited-edition cards have been produced. Recent releases include Supreme, David Bowie, Notorious B.I.G, Kate Spade, KISS, Law and Order and Ice Spice. The Vampire Weekend commemorative release is not one of the final two limited-edition MetroCards that were announced last week.
