The Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) announced today that in-person Board and committee meetings will be held later this month. On Monday, September 13 starting at 8:30 a.m. and continuing throughout the day, MTA Board committee chairs will convene meetings of the Long Island Rail Road, Metro-North Railroad, New York City Transit and Bus, MTA Bridges and Tunnels, Finance, Capital Program Oversight and Safety committees. On Wednesday, September 15, the Board’s Diversity Committee will meet at 9:00 a.m., followed by a meeting at 10:00 a.m. of the full MTA Board.

A post-meeting news conference will begin approximately 30 minutes after the conclusion of the board meeting. Accredited news media representatives are invited to join and ask questions at the news conference either in-person or via Zoom.

Members of the public at committee and board meetings are required to adhere to the MTA’s Code of Conduct. For safety reasons, the following protocols will be in effect on Monday, September 13 and Wednesday, September 15:

  • Capacity for the public is limited to 52 people, who will be admitted on a first come, first served basis. There will be an overflow room that can hold up to an additional 25 members of the public.

  • Masks are required for everyone, regardless of vaccination status.

  • Anyone who feels ill is asked to stay home and seek advice from a healthcare provider.
