Subway and rail service changes: March 29-April 1, 2024

There are service changes on the subway and LIRR this weekend. Here's how that will affect how you get around.
Updated March 29, 2024 12:00 p.m.

Welcome to the last weekend in March! If you've used the MTA app this week, you may have noticed we've made some big changes based on your feedback. Now it's easier than ever to plan a trip, see your train's arrival time, get service alerts for your route, or find your bus in real time. And important station information, like planned work or elevator & escalator outages, is right at your fingertips. We're continuing to improve the app based on your feedback, so please let us know what you think. You can do that right in the app—look for the "App Feedback" link in the "More" tab.

We also have great news for riders between Manhattan and Queens, and this is no April Fool's joke: The 63 St Line track replacement project is nearly finished, and regular  service will be restored Monday morning. The full breakdown of changes this weekend into Monday is below. And if you've been impacted by the service changes for the past seven months, we appreciate your patience.

Here's what else is happening this weekend (also viewable as a handy map):

  •  trains aren't running between Crown Heights-Utica Av and New Lots Av.
  •  trains aren't stopping at Coney Island-Stillwell Av.
  •  trains aren't running between Church Av and Coney Island-Stillwell Av.
  •  Shuttle train is no longer running.

For more details, keep on scrolling. We’ve also got travel alternatives for stations that will be closed or skipped.

And don't forget to sign up for the MTA Weekender, a newsletter sent every Friday. You'll get these service changes directly in your inbox, with more than enough time to plan your weekend travel. Subscribe here.
