Chris Pangilinan returned to the MTA in March 2022 to lead Paratransit, overseeing the team that provides nearly 30,000 rides a day to people who are unable to use the bus or subway system due to disability.
Pangilinan firmly believes in improving public transportation to enable people, especially those with disabilities, to live their fullest lives, and has dedicated his 15-plus year career toward this mission. In his previous role, Pangilinan was the Head of Global Policy for Public Transportation and Accessibility at Uber, working to bring the benefits of on-demand transportation to transit, and to people with disabilities. Prior to Uber, he held various roles in advocacy, federal government, and at the transit agencies of Chicago, San Francisco, and New York.
Pangilinan received his M.S. in Transportation from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and his B.S. in Civil Engineering from Portland State University.
