MTA Announces Seven New Tenants Coming to Grand Central Terminal

Iconic Transit Hub Welcomes Food, Beverage, Lifestyle and Entertainment Brands to Terminal 

 

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) today announced seven new tenants coming to Grand Central Terminal in 2022. The newly signed tenants represent a vibrant and diverse mix of industry innovators; immersive entertainment companies, iconic eating and drinking destinations, and exciting lifestyle retail brands. 

Despite previous challenges posed to retailing by the global pandemic, the strong demand for Grand Central’s retail spaces coincides with Metro-North’s ridership recovery and a returning abundance of foot traffic at this premiere location in the center of NYC. One tenant celebrated their opening this past March, with the rest expected to open their doors by the end of the year.

“Grand Central Terminal is not just a transportation hub, it's a destination in its own right,” said Metro-North President Catherine Rinaldi. “These incoming tenants recognize that the vibrant atmosphere that makes the terminal so iconic will only increase when the Long Island Rail Road concourse opens this year so their timing could not be more perfect.” 

“Grand Central is a world-class icon and the retail environment is making a comeback that is poised to gain even more momentum,” said MTA Chief Administrative Officer Lisette Camilo. “The range of new tenants coming to Grand Central underscores that attractiveness and how the MTA works hard to curate diverse retail experience for riders and visitors alike.” 

Confirmed tenants coming to Grand Central this year include:

  • City Winery – Full-functioning restaurant, bar, winery, and private events space, with ambient music. Nationally, City Winery maintains locations in eight major US regions. They will take over the west side of Vanderbilt Hall previously occupied by a food and beverage use the 15,888 square-foot outpost will include a full-service restaurant, bar, and to-go options for locals and commuters.
  • Cipriani – The luxury Italian hospitality company with a global presence will be expanding its footprint with a new 8,200 square-foot new Argentinian chophouse located adjacent to already existing restaurant Cipriani Dolci.
  • Bourke Street Bakery – Sydney born bakery brand with locations in Nomad, Chelsea & UWS will be serving its iconic sourdough, pastries, yummy, sweet treats, hearty sandwiches, salads and Australian coffee. Opening summer in the 42nd Street Passage seven days a week from 6am – 9pm. Bourke Street Bakery is expected to open by early July.
  • Luke’s Lobster – Family-owned Maine seafood business with 17 existing locations in the US will be opening its next lobster shack at Grand Central Terminal’s Dining Concourse. Serving the best quality seafood direct from the source, including their signature Maine-Style Lobster Roll, Luke’s Lobster will be opening later this year.
  • Dirty Taco – An upbeat and urban taco shop offering L.A. street style tacos, delicious side dishes, and agua frescas. We offer a no-frills taqueria headed by Armenian and Korean influenced Chefs that bring in their own traditions and flavors. The concept will allow travelers a quick option with a diversity of flavors reminding patrons of classic Los Angeles. Dirty Taco will be located next to Prova Pizza on the Dining Concourse.
  • Lovepop – Leading designer of magical pop-up cards and gifts recently opened a new storefront at the iconic Grand Central Terminal last month. The nearly 600 square-foot space, located in the main concourse off the Graybar Passage, offers Lovepop’s full assortment of products on its iconic tiered displays. The storefront also features a dedicated Lovepop Flower Shop, highlighting the entire assortment of Lovepop’s handcrafted flower bouquets and products.
  • Karma & Luck – A lifestyle brand inspired by timeless traditions with the power to awaken greater awareness and purpose each and every day, Karma & Luck offers stylish, thoughtful essentials designed to foster happiness, health and prosperity and help manifest dreams. The handmade items range from jewelry to home décor and accessories. Karma & Luck will be opening Main Concourse in the Lexington Passage and is expected to open in June.
