Alexander Lindsay, MTA Police Assistant Chief

Chief Lindsay began his career as a Police Officer with the MTA Metro North Railroad Police Department in 1997. He was promoted to Sergeant in 2002, Lieutenant 2007, Captain 2013, Inspector 2018, Deputy Chief in 2021 and Assistant Chief in 2022. His assignments included Patrol and Internal Affairs Bureau. He served in all three regions covering Metro North Railroad, Staten Island Railway and Long Island Railroad. 

Chief Lindsay attended the 52nd Session of the West Point Command and Leadership Academy,  

Chief Lindsay holds an associate degree from John Jay College of Criminal Justice.  

He is a member of the International Association of Chief of Police, Nassau County Chiefs of Police Association and ASIS International - Long Island.
