Subway service changes: April 7-10

There are service changes on the subway this weekend. Here’s how that will affect how you get around.

This Sunday, subways, buses, LIRR, and Metro-North will run on a regular Sunday schedule for Easter. Keep in mind that several bus routes in Manhattan will be detoured during the Easter Parade. If you'll be hopping around Midtown, check the status of your bus route on our homepage before you go.

Here's what else is happening this weekend:

  •  trains aren't running between Inwood-207 St and 168 St
  •  trains aren't running between Norwood-205 St and 161 St-Yankee Stadium
  •  trains aren't running between Court Sq and Bedford-Nostrand Avs
  •  trains aren't running between Myrtle-Wyckoff Avs and Broadway Junction
  •  trains are rerouted in Brooklyn
  •  trains are rerouted between Manhattan and Queens

Major subway service changes

 trains, Manhattan

From 9:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday,   trains are not running between 168 St and Inwood-207 St in either direction. This is because of track replacement work.

  • Free shuttle buses are running on Broadway between 168 St and Inwood-207 St, and on Fort Washington Avenue between 168 St and 190 St. Look for signs outside your station for walking directions to the shuttle bus stop.
  •  trains are running between 168 St and Far Rockaway/Ozone Park.
  •  trains also make nearby stops between 168 St and 207 St.

 trains, Bronx

From 11:30 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday,   trains are not running between 161 St-Yankee Stadium and Norwood-205 St in either direction, and downtown trains aren't stopping at 155 St. This is because of structural maintenance work.

  •  trains are running between Coney Island-Stillwell Av and 161 St-Yankee Stadium.
  • For service to/from 155 St, take an uptown train.
  • For service between 161 St-Yankee Stadium and Bedford Park Blvd, take the  .
  • Norwood-205 St is connected by a free D90 shuttle bus to Mosholu Pkwy  . Transfer between the   and the   at 161 St-Yankee Stadium.

 trains, Brooklyn and Queens

Trains are not running between Court Sq and Bedford-Nostrand Avs in either direction from 9:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday because of accessibility improvement work.

  • Free shuttle buses are running between Court Sq and Bedford-Nostrand Avs. Look for signs outside your station for walking directions to the shuttle bus stop.
  •  trains are running between Bedford-Nostrand Avs and Church Av.

 trains, Brooklyn

Trains are not running between Myrtle-Wyckoff Avs and Broadway Junction in either direction from 3:30 a.m. Saturday to 10 p.m. Sunday because of track maintenance.

  • Free shuttle buses are running between Myrtle-Wyckoff Avs and Broadway Junction. Look for signs outside your station for walking directions to the shuttle bus stop.
  •  trains are running in two sections:
    • Between 8 Av and Myrtle-Wyckoff Avs.
    • Between Broadway Junction and Canarsie-Rockaway Pkwy.
    • Note: At Broadway Junction, board   trains on the Jamaica-bound   platform.
  • For direct train service between Manhattan and Brooklyn, consider taking the   train between 14 St and Broadway Junction.

 trains, Brooklyn

From 9:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday, there's no Coney Island-bound  service between 36 St and Coney Island-Stillwell Av. All Coney Island-bound   trains will run on the   between those stations. This is because of track replacement work.

  • For Coney Island-bound service to/from these stations, take a Manhattan-bound train to 62 St/New Utrecht Av or 36 St, then transfer.

 trains, Manhattan and Queens

From 6:15 a.m. Saturday to 5 a.m. Monday, Queens-bound  trains are running on the   line from 57 St-7 Av to Lexington Av/63 St, and then via the  line to Jackson Hts-Roosevelt Av. This is because of track maintenance and station improvement work.

  • For service to/from 5 Av/59 St and Lexington Av/59 St, take the   train.
  • For service to/from Queens Plaza, take the   train.
  • For service to/from local stations between Queens Plaza and Jackson Hts-Roosevelt Av, take a Manhattan-bound   train.
  • After 9:45 p.m. each night, the last stop on Queens-bound   trains is Jackson Hts-Roosevelt Av. Take   trains.
  • Reminder:   trains don't run overnight in Queens.

Other service changes

 trains, Bronx

Manhattan-bound trains are running on the express track from Gun Hill Rd to E 180 St from 3:45 a.m. Saturday to 10 p.m. Sunday because of track replacement.

  • For service to/from bypassed stations, take a Wakefield-bound train, or take the Bx39 bus.

 trains, Bronx

Pelham Bay Park-bound trains are running on the express track from Parkchester to Pelham Bay Park from 9:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday because of station work.

  • For service to/from bypassed stations, take a Manhattan-bound train.

 trains, Manhattan

Downtown   trains are running on the express track from:

  • 59 St-Columbus Circle 
  • 42 St-Port Authority Bus Terminal 

to Canal St from 9:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday because of structural maintenance. For service to/from bypassed stations, take an uptown train.

 trains, Queens

Queens-bound trains are running on the express track from:

  • Queens Plaza 
  • 21 St-Queensbridge 

to Jackson Hts-Roosevelt Av from 12:15 a.m. Saturday to 5 a.m. Monday because of structural maintenance. For service to/from bypassed stations, take a Manhattan-bound train.

Reminders:

  • Queens-bound   trains are running on the   line between Manhattan and Queens.
  • After 9:45 p.m. the last stop on Queens-bound   trains is Jackson Hts-Roosevelt Av, and   trains don't run in Queens at all overnight.

 trains, Manhattan and Brooklyn

Uptown  trains are running on the express track from W 4 St-Wash Sq to 34 St-Herald Sq from 9:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday because of track maintenance.

  • For service to/from bypassed stations, take a downtown train.

Jamaica-bound   and Bedford-Nostrand Avs-bound   trains are running on the express track from Church Av to Smith-9 Sts from 9:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday because of accessibility improvement work.

  • For service to/from bypassed stations, take a Coney Island-bound   or Church Av-bound   train.
