Subway, AirTrain, and rail service changes: April 29-May 2

Here's how planned work will affect your commute this weekend.
Updated April 29, 2022 10:26 a.m.

Hello, riders! You know what they say — April showers bring May flowers. As we turn the calendar from April to May this weekend, we hope that you’ll get the chance to step outside for some fresh air, take a trip with us, and maybe even stop somewhere along the way to see some cherry blossoms.

If you’re traveling this weekend, let us help you plan your trip. Some subway and Long Island Rail Road lines will experience service changes.

There will also be a full overnight shutdown of JFK AirTrain service from 10 p.m. Friday to 10 a.m. Saturday, and again from 10 p.m. Saturday to 10 a.m. Sunday. Plan accordingly if you have to head to the airport: There are free shuttle buses running from Jamaica and Howard Beach to Federal Circle. At Federal Circle, transfer to shuttle buses to get to your airline terminal. You can also take the Q10 bus to/from the Lefferts Blvd subway station. Visit the Port Authority’s website for more details.

For more details on how service will be affected across all modes of transit, check out our Planned Work tool and search for your subway, bus, or rail line.

These service changes are subject to change, so check the MTA homepage before heading out; it's where you'll find up-to-the-minute information on subway, bus, and rail service.
